Pokemon Launches Long-Anticipated Trading Figure Game in North America

Pokemon USA, Inc., a worldwide leader in trading card games, today announced the U.S. release of the Pokemon Trading Figure Game (TFG), slated to hit stores on September 19. This marks the latest milestone in the Pokemon collectible gaming evolution since the release of the phenomenally successful Pokemon Trading Card Game in Japan in 1996. The first set of figures released will include more than 40 popular Pokemon characters and Trainer figures; select booster sets will include Pokemon from the recent Pokemon Trading Card Game: Diamond & Pearl release.

Gameplay includes a dynamic spinning mechanism for each Pokemon that lets players send their figures into battle against one another in an entirely new way. By mixing and matching figures, players can expand their battle choices right from the beginning, encouraging a similar sport and strategy as practiced in the world-renowned Pokemon Trading Card Game.

Burglar steals jewelry from newswoman’s home

NEW YORK — A burglar posing as a construction worker made away with about $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics in a broad-daylight heist at Leslie Stahl's apartment, police said Friday. Police wouldn't provide specifics, but the New York Post reported the burglar posed as a construction worker and stole several diamond watches, a pearl necklace, earrings, gold and silver necklaces and a laptop. The break-in occurred during the morning of Jan. 25 at the “60 Minutes" correspondent's apartment overlooking Central Park. Stahl, a former White House correspondent who has been on the CBS news magazine since 1991, wasn't home at the time. The burglar reportedly went onto the roof, gained access by breaking a patio door and then ransacked the apartment Stahl shares with her husband, writer Aaron Latham, and daughter.
